A one-year course designed to develop a physically educated person who has mastered the necessary movements to participate confidently in many different forms of physical activity. This course presents an introduction to a variety of sport activities and an understanding of the value of physical fitness and its relationship to health and well-being. Student will develop a personalized fitness program for a healthy life-style with major emphasis on fitness concepts, team sports and aquatics. This course also brings comprehensive health awareness to the student. Units to be covered include hygiene, chemical, alcohol and tobacco abuse, diet and nutrition, sexually transmitted diseases and first aid. (Prereq: None.)
