0131 American Literature/Composition IA 11 CSU, UC
This course refines and continues to build upon the basic skills presented in the ninth and tenth grades. While its primary focus is a thematic survey of American literature, this course utilizes a variety of assessment, incorporating school-wide electronic portfolios. Through the development of personal, analytical, and creative writing, students focus on the evolution of the American character and the American Dream. Ultimately, students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills are enhanced based on the needs of the individual students. (Prereq: Successful completion of Composition and World Literature I or Composition and World Literature IA, and Composition and World Literature II or Composition and World Literature IIA)
