0602 Cultural Geography

Examines the relationships between the physical environment of the earth
and human communities. It develops student understanding of the distribution
and characteristics of the world's major cultures as they reflect the
dynamics of physical landscape, human migration, and cultural diffusion.
Students are introduced to basic physical geography, map reading skills,
and the five themes of geography, focusing on the relationships between
physical environment and human cultures. Specific areas of study including
Latin America, Asia, Africa, Western Europe, the Middle East, and North
America, allow students to consider the regional mosaic of the world
and to appreciate its complexity and interdependence. (Prereq: None.)
