0518 French I 9, 10, 11, 12 CSU, UC
Provides practice in listening for comprehension and in speaking. A varied vocabulary is introduced. Correct pronunciation, intonation, spelling and use of basic language structure is practiced in both oral and written exercises. The student is introduced to the culture of French speaking countries. (Prereq: Total placement test stanine score of 5-9 on the entrance exam or department approval.)
